The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of all members is the highest decision making levels of the organization. Currently, NAFGEM has 110 members in 8 districts of Kilimanjaro and Manyara regions. The Executive Committee of 8 members supervises NAFGEM’s activities on a daily basis. The committee is made up of the Chairperson, Deputy Chairperson, the Secretary and representatives from all districts.
In collaboration with NAFGEM members, the anti-FGM activities are planned, implemented and monitored by NAFGEM employees working under the Executive Coordinator. Other NAFGEM staff include the Project Manager, Field Officers, Accountant and other support staff. At present, NAFGEM has two offices; the main office is situated in Moshi and a Field Office at Orkesumet, Simanjiro district.
Members of NAFGEM are individual women and men who are committed and volunteer to fight against FGM and other forms of GBV. To become a member, an individual has to pay a subscription and an annual fee predetermined by the Executive Committee. Currently, NAFGEM has 110 members with diverse expertise ranging from ordinary community members to teachers, health and social workers.
4. District Working Teams:
NAFGEM members in each district form the District Working Team in the areas the organization operates. The teams are headed by a Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer and all remaining members.
